The 20 Kronor gold piece of Sweden was first struck in 1873, following the monetary agreement cited between Sweden, Denmark and Norway. These coins were struck until 1901-02 under the rule of Oscar II. This denomination is filled with low mintage scarce dates and significant varieties. This magnificent item is not modern restrike but genuine rarity.

The gold coin is from a design by the renowned Swedish engraver Lea Ahlborn, and is considered to be miniature works of fine art by numismatists around the world. Coin carries the personal motto of Oscar II: "The Welfare of the Brother Peoples," referring to the union of Norway and Sweden under his rule.
